What is van don airport?

Van Don Airport is an international airport located in Quang Ninh province in Vietnam. It is the first privately owned airport in the country and was officially opened in December 2018.

The airport covers an area of 325 hectares and has a 3.6 kilometer runway that can accommodate large aircraft like the Boeing 777 and Airbus A350. It was built with modern facilities and services including self-check-in kiosks, baggage handling systems, and advanced security systems.

Van Don Airport serves as a gateway to popular tourist destinations such as Ha Long Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay, and Co To Island. It currently operates domestic flights to major cities in Vietnam, as well as international flights to China and South Korea.

The airport is owned and operated by Sun Group, one of the leading real estate and tourism development companies in Vietnam. Sun Group invested nearly $300 million in building Van Don Airport, with the aim of boosting tourism and economic development in the region.
